Маршруты уличных SIC!, как правило, следуют вдоль воды, и эта запись, сделанная в сентябре 2022 в Тбилиси – не исключение. На ней зафиксировано наше перемещение вдоль Куры (Мтквари) между разными, по большей части туристическими местами. Пара точек расположена также у водопадов на ручье Самархахеви в Ботаническом саду и в районе Серных бань (впрочем, этот ручей также впадает в Мтквари).
Альбом назван в честь знаменитых rave-протестов в Тбилиси в 2018. Одной из локаций нашего импров-дрифта стали ступени перед Парламентом Грузии – ключевая точка этих протестов, и вообще традиционное место для разных публичных политических акций. Правда, полицейские не дали нам там поиграть – неудачная попытка зафиксирована на одноименном с альбомом треке. Ещё одна неудача случилась на территории заброшенного бассейна «Лагуна Вере» – места с отсутствующей водой: охранники погнали нас оттуда прежде, чем нам удалось что-то записать (отметим, что поводом для rave-протестов 2018 года стал полицейский рейд на клуб Бассиани, в котором в качестве танцпола также используется заброшенный бассейн).
На записи к участникам предыдущего (турецкого) SIC! – Александру Маркварту, Степану Качалину и Максу Евстропову – присоединился наш старый сибирский и новый грузинский товарищ Юрий Туров.
Артефактом, прилагаемым к записи, служат обломки квеври – традиционного грузинского глиняного сосуда для изготовления вина. Такие сосуды практически целиком закапывают в землю, над поверхностью остаётся только закрытая горловина. Очень материнское ощущение – хтоническое брожение, подземное превращение в вино, тёмный глиняный карман. Иногда сосуды квеври могут быть очень большими. «Вино держат в маранах, огромных кувшинах, зарытых в землю. Их открывают с торжественными обрядами. Недавно русский драгун, тайно отрыв таковой кувшин, упал в него и утонул в кахетинском вине» (Пушкин, «Путешествие в Арзрум» (1836) – «наше (имперское) всё» по ошибке называет здесь кувшины квеври словом «марани», обозначающим винный погреб).
Вещественно-символическим сопровождением записи служат осколки верхней, надземной части небольшого квеври, подаренной хозяином винодельни Марани Велисцихури (მარანი ველისციხური) в Кахетии. Кусочки квеври (которому, говорят, минимум 100 лет) словно бы приглашают пойти путём подземного вина / хорошего русского драгуна.

The routes of street SIC! usually follow the water, and this recording made in September 2022 in Tbilisi is no exception. It documents our movement along the Kura (Mtkvari) river between different, mostly tourist places. A couple of points were also located near the waterfalls on the Samarkhakhevi stream in the Botanical Garden and in the Abanotubani area (however, this stream also flows into Mtkvari).
The album is named after the famous rave protests in Tbilisi in 2018. One of the locations of our improv drift was the steps in front of the Parliament of Georgia – the key point of those protests, and in general a traditional place for various public political actions. However, the police did not let us play there – the unsuccessful attempt was recorded on the track eponymous with the album. Another mishap occurred at the abandoned Laguna Vere swimming pool – a place with no water: the guards drove us out of there before we could record anything (note that the reason for the rave protests of 2018 was a police raid on the Bassiani club, which also uses an abandoned swimming pool as a dance floor).
On this record the participants of the previous (Turkish) SIC! – Alexander Markvart, Stepan Kachalin and Max Evstropov – were joined by our old Siberian and new Georgian comrade Yuri Turov.
The artifact accompanying the recording is the fragments of a qvevri, a traditional Georgian clay vessel for making wine. Such vessels are buried almost entirely in the ground, with only the closed neck remaining above the surface. A very maternal feeling – chthonic fermentation, underground transformation into wine, a dark clay bag. Sometimes qvevri vessels can be very large. “Wine is kept in maranas, huge jugs buried in the ground. They are opened with solemn ceremonies. Recently, a russian dragoon, secretly uncorcking such a jug, fell into it and drowned in Kakheti wine” (Pushkin, “Journey to Arzrum” (1836) – “our (imperial) everything" mistakenly called qvevri jugs here the word “marani” meaning wine cellar).
The material and symbolic accompaniment of the recording are fragments of the upper above-ground part of a small qvevri donated by the owner of the Marani Velistsikhuri (მარანი ველისციხური) winery in Kakheti. Pieces of qvevri (which are said to be at least 100 years old) seem to invite you to follow the path of underground wine / good russian dragoon.
